Beaphar Intersief Red - complementary feed for birds. Effectively improves the red colour in all coloured birds, such as canaries, linnets, goldfinches, cardinals, flamingos etc. Contains Carophyll Red (canthaxanthin) to colour tail and wing feathers. Use during moulting in soft food or water.
Active Ingredient: Canthaxanthin (also known as Carophyll Red (trademark DSM)).
How To Use
Do not mix with seed. Intensief may be added to Beaphar Fortified Egg Food or Beaphar Universal food. As a general rule a mixture of 10 gram of Intensief with 1 kg of rearing food is recommended. Give fresh twice a day, during the moult and during breeding up to a maximum of 4 times a day. Results will only be obtained by feeding Intensief during the moulting season, starting at least one week before the moult. However, many canary breeders offer Intensief daily throughout the year. Intensief may also be added to the drinking water by dissolving 10g in 1 litre of water (1 full teaspoon is approximately 2g). Both solution and feed mixture have to be prepared fresh daily. Please note: both solution and feed mixture will colour red after mixing with Intensief.
Safety and Storage
Storage: Do not store above 25°C. Dispose of packaging in household rubbish.
Warnings: Do not interrupt Intensief feeding before and during the moult to avoid loosing colour. Birds given Intensief may pass red droppings, this is normal and indicates a sufficient intake. Avoid giving amounts exceeding those stated above. Large amounts will be stored in the liver which places a load on vital functions like vitamin storage and detoxification. Should your birds show a purple colour of the skin cease feeding Intensief immediately until the purple colouring has disappeared. After seven days, feeding of Intensief may be resumed at a lower dosage rate.
